A masterpiece of marine exploration! The "Deep Sea Adventure" series has sold over 18.5 million copies!

Recently, Unknown Worlds Entertainment, the developer of the Subnautica series, has announced the official sequel 《Subnautica 2: Alien Waters》 and revealed that the franchise has sold over 18.5 million copies worldwide. Since September 2025, the game has held the top spot on Steam’s Most Wishlisted Games list for nine consecutive months.

Since the launch of the first title in January 2018, the series has released two mainline entries: 《Subnautica》 and 《Subnautica: Below Zero》. The original 《Subnautica》 alone has sold over 9.6 million copies on PC via Steam and is frequently discounted on the platform.

The upcoming 《Subnautica 2: Alien Waters》 is a survival adventure game set in an alien deep-sea world, introducing 4-player co-op mode for the first time. Players will explore seabeds teeming with exotic creatures, diverse ecosystems, and unknown secrets.

Officials stated that the game will take players to an entirely new alien ocean region, expanding the survival system and introducing the free-choice 4-player co-op gameplay, marking a major milestone for the franchise.

《Subnautica: Below Zero》, released in May 2021, also received "Overwhelmingly Positive" reviews from players. Both titles are available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Additionally, both games launched on Nintendo Switch 2 in February this year. They run at 1440p in docked mode and 1080p in handheld mode, with a stable 60 FPS, offering "more responsive controls, greater immersion, and smoother underwater gameplay".
